Mesh Panel on Social Change and the Web

Last year I had the pleasure to give be part of a panel on Social Change and the Web at the MESH conference, one of Canada’s premier events for the Web community.
Our friends at MESH put up the video of the panel which included our friend Tom Williams speaking about his project at GiveMeaning.
For those of you who weren’t able to attend, we wanted to share this with you.

This is a very interesting conversation. Thanks.
Thanks Arach. It was a great opportunity to talk about some of our inspirations for Akoha.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
I somewhat understand the Whuffie process, but as a service, how is Akoha actually making money to pay for their employees, hosting, etc., in the timespan required for the whole world to switch to a Whuffie economy system?
Hi Seb,
Thanks for the question. While the Whuffie idea is certainly fun - we aren’t under any illusions that the whole world is going to being adopting it as an economic system anytime soon
We aren’t discussing our actual offering or business model at this point, but we are funded by investors at this stage who believe that our vision is one that can be both profitable and positive in our social goals.
Stay tuned here as we release more details and let us know if you still have questions once we release the product.
Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for the prompt reply, I will be eagerly following for new developments!
